This ongoing project will study explosions recorded by passive acoustic monitoring in the Southern California (SOCAL) region between 2009 and 2012, and provide a description of their characteristics and frequency of occurrence. In this region, explosions are used both by the Navy as part of training exercises, and by the commercial fishing industry as a deterrent for marine mammals
