About

Minke whales (Balaenoptera acutorostrata) were acoustically detected and localized, via their boing vocalizations, using recorded data from the US Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) located off Kauai, Hawaii. All available recorded data (766 h) from 24 seafloor mounted hydrophones were processed to localize boing calling minke whales associated with US Navy training events which occurred in the month of February over three years (2011–2013).
