NAVFAC Atlantic Marine Resources staff highlighted in The Atlantic Observer

Posted on May 7, 2019

The U.S. Navy employs over 200 marine biologists and environmental planners to ensure that it is in compliance with applicable environmental laws, and to conduct research to better assess and mitigate the Navy's potential impact on marine resources. NAVFAC Atlantic was one of the first commands to employ professional marine biologists and currently has a staff of 10 specializing in areas ranging from marine mammals, sea turtles and fish, to marine habitats, acoustics, and geographic information systems.
